Bark River was a full weekend of racing for us having to race Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It was definitely a battle of attrition for the team. Heading into the weekend second in points we really just wanted to get a few consistent finishes to set us up for the points championship finale in Crandon.
Friday we started 9th and after first corner carnage we immediately got up into 4th. Soon after that, a red flag stopped the race and the race was restarted in the original starting order. We slowly started carving through the field after that and finished 3rd.
Saturday's race went more of the same starting 9th with a 3rd place finish. This result however gave us the points lead headed into the final race of the weekend!
Sunday we started 10th and with a last lap last corner pass crossed the finish line 4th. During post-race tech inspection, it was determined the winner of the race was disqualified and that bumped us up to yet another 3rd place finish!
Recapping the weekend, we achieved exactly what we hoped to accomplish. Three third place finishes on the weekend and we will head into the final race weekend leading the points championship. This team works extremely hard so I was happy to be able to put up some consistent strong finishes. We are heading into Crandon determined.
